(She/Her)

I have been teaching American Sign Language (ASL) here at TMS since 2016 (two of those years in partnership with a Deaf friend and colleague). In addition, I offer administrative support to the TMS Offices and other staff members. It is so wonderful to be part of this wonderful TMS Community.

I was born and grew up in San Diego county (mostly, with a bit of Idaho and Texas thrown in there). At age 11, I met a Deaf woman in our neighborhood and began learning the beautiful language of ASL. My interest in ASL continued through my high school years and into college. While in college, I also took three years of Spanish for an additional foreign language.

I earned an American Sign Language/English Interpreting Training Program Certificate from Palomar College. My BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences (with an emphasis in Psychology) is from San Diego State University. Other relevant background includes Membership to RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf); Community and Educational ASL interpreting; Private Academic Tutoring; and Home/Hospital Instruction.

My family includes my husband, our son (who started college in the fall of 2020!), and our American Dingo-mix dog. We've lived in Marin since 2009 but we return to San Diego each year to visit family and friends. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, camping, and swimming in the ocean.

Welcome to TMS, I look forward to getting to know you and your families!
