Student Supervisor (High School)
Position: Student Supervisor
Reports to: Head of School/Office Manager
Position Status: Part-Time, Exempt
The Marin School, an independent college-preparatory high school in San Rafael, California, seeks a part-time Student Supervisor. As a Student Supervisor, you will facilitate and monitor student safety routines, including Covid-19 policies and procedures, and monitor classrooms for instructors teaching remotely through Zoom.
The Marin School currently serves 80 students in grades 9-12. We honor each student's unique learning style and act in accordance with an unshakable belief in the potential of each and every student. Class size at the school is small by design (5-10 students), to allow teachers to fully understand their students and give teachers the ability to personalize their instruction with experiential learning, innovative lessons and non-traditional, yet effective, learning opportunities.

Assist with morning Covid-19 screening when students and faculty arrive on campus.
Assure that students are following social distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitizing guidelines throughout the day, particularly during passing time between classes and during lunch.
Assist with the distribution of lunches to students.
Monitor on-site classroom activity when a teacher is teaching remotely to assure that students are following proper safety practices and participating in instruction.
Assist remote teachers with distribution of materials, photo-copying, etc., and collaborate on instruction when appropriate.
Assist the Office Manager with on-site Covid-19 testing.
Escort any student who is sick to the isolation room and monitor them until the appropriate adult picks them up.
Understand and act on school emergency procedures in the case of an emergency.
Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Experience working/communicating with teenagers (e.g., summer camp, etc).
Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Works calmly and effectively.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive and optimistic.
University undergraduate degree preferred.
Hours will start at 7:45 AM and end sometime before 4:45 PM. Hours will vary during the week based on the school’s needs. A regular weekly schedule will be established initially with the opportunity to work additional hours if needed and authorized by the Office Manager. You will not be expected to work during school breaks which include 1 week in February and 1 week in April.

This position will only be needed when the students are on campus. We anticipate students returning to campus on January 25th, however we will make that decision in mid-January in conjunction with the status of Covid-19 at that time. Our ability to be on campus will be determined by public health guidelines and the comfort level of our community, and we hope that with a decrease in positive Covid-19 cases and a vaccine we will be able to return to campus in January or February.
