After practicing civil engineering for 20 years, Steph pursued her long-time interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education by completing a single-subject teaching credential in mathematics. She enjoys interacting mathematically with students, helping them to see the relevance of mathematics in the world around us. Steph’s goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel safe practicing and learning from their mistakes. Prior to teaching, Steph worked for Marin County Public Works, private engineering consulting firms, and the U.S.D.A. Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Now in her second year at TMS, Steph enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and her dog, cooking, reading, and playing guitar.
