EIGHTH GRADE STRING ENSEMBLE
Prior to moving to the Bay Area, I served on the music and dance faculties of Idyllwild
Arts Academy and Interlochen Center for the Arts, both private high schools providing
in-depth and intensive study in arts disciplines in addition to academic education. I
relocated to Marin for the creative blessing of a bountiful natural environment, and as a
private tutor and classroom teacher, my work with students at The Greenwood School,
The New Village School, and Marin County Day School, has brought me inspiration
through relationships with youth developing their innate artistry and creativity. I am
excited this year for this opportunity to teach at The Marin School.
Alongside my work as a teacher, I work as a freelance musician. My performance work
has included performing as a concerto soloist with the Williamsport Symphony and the
Nittany Valley Symphony in Pennsylvania. I received a B.A in Music Performance from
the University of Colorado as a full-scholarship honors string quartet recipient. Recent
performance projects include a featured cello performance in the the soundtrack and
visuals of the films; Dancing with Nureyev, and, Song of the Last Place, a documentary
promoting the restoration of the West Peak of Mount Tamalpais.
When not playing cello or teaching, I practice and teach yoga and other body-mind
physical modalities that also keep alive my connection and love of contemporary dance.
I spend free time in nature and nature conservation activities.
