Jennifer Bell, Learning Specialist
I am excited to join the Marin School as a Learning Specialist. I began my work as an educator 25 years ago working in the Teacher Training/Child Development program at Stanford University. Following graduate school, I taught with the Marin County Office of Education’s Early Intervention program, supporting children with special needs in a family-centered program. Following the birth of my children (Lauren, 17 and Anthony, 13) I took a huge leap of faith and began a very rewarding placement as a high school education specialist. Specifically, I taught alternative and technical education for MCOE, providing academic support and internship supervision for students in Marin.
Most recently, I have taught university coursework for the Department of Special Education at Dominican University and Santa Rosa Junior College. I have lived in Tiburon for nearly 14 years with my busy family and a household filled with many pets, a great partner in my husband, John, school projects and more soccer games than I care to reveal.
I value diversity, individual differences and the role of the family as key stakeholders in each child’s educational experience. When students, families and educators communicate and collaborate, we can navigate challenges and champion each student’s potential to create a meaningful educational pathway, with happiness as the primary objective.
