English III: Summer Assignments 2018

English III is an exciting course because it focuses only on nonfiction literature and rhetoric. So, you will dive deeper into the nonfiction work you began this year. This summer you will continue your Reader/Writer’s Journal from last year (find it or create a new one). Keeping this journal gives you the opportunity to read articles and essays of interest, learn about current events and mindsets, and practice responding to other people’s ideas. Good writers must be good readers, so this is where we will begin.
