Our Favorite Vampires
, and naturally, Edward Cullen was chosen to reign supreme.
The menu featured pizza with lots of life-saving garlic, and blood orange drinks. We looked at videos of our favorite vampire movies... a little Bela Lugosi and a lot of Twilight.
November was Native American Month and we looked at stereotypes... Tonto and the Lone Ranger, as seen through the eyes of Sherman Alexie. We got to ask our guest, Matt O'Donnell, how the Cleveland Indians can still use such an obviously embarassing cliche as a mascot. The menu included buffalo wings, cornbread, and cider.
December featured stories told on a winter night, which we shared with our neighbors, the children from The New Village School. Chip Vetter was our guest reader, and his rendition of Lemony Snicket's The Latke Who Couldn't Stop Screaming, will be long remembered.
