Learning Center

The Learning Center offers students a quiet environment where they can study – independently or in small peer groups, use assistive technologies on the computer, do homework, organize their time and schedules.  We are committed to creating a community of learners that embraces all learning styles and differences. 

The Learning Center provides students the opportunity to gain key academic skills in these areas:

  • Study Skills
  • Test-taking
  • Note-taking
  • Organizational Skills
  • Time Management

In addition, the Learning Center offers assistance with the following to further encourage students to become active learners and to help improve academic performance:

  • Use of Assitive Technologies:  Software such as Kurzweil, Solo Outloud, Inspiration 8 
  • Books on CD or DVD for English
  • Additional resources for Learning
  • Assistance with obtaining special accommodations for ACT/SAT's
  • Tutoring Referral List-Tutors, Educational Therapists, Psycho-educational Testing
  • Workshops through the Parents Education Network
