Admissions & Development Assistant
I was born in Salem, Oregon, and my family moved around quite a bit when I was young. I was always the new kid in school, which I secretly loved. We eventually settled down in a small town in Northern California, where I attended junior high and high school.
I moved to Marin shortly after graduation, and the area quickly became “home” to me. After living in a hot and dusty little town, I fell in love with the bay breezes, the foggy mornings, the sweeping views of Mt. Tamalpais, and the energy of the people living here. I started out at College of Marin, and then transferred to Dominican University in San Rafael, where I got my BA in Liberal Studies as well as my Multiple Subject teaching credential. I taught briefly in Colorado, but Colorado is NOT California, and I returned to Marin about six months later.
After a series of twists and turns, I found myself working in a private investigations office in San Rafael, where I moved up from writing reports to taking charge of a team of undercover surveillance investigators. At around this time, I also discovered a passion and talent for graphic design, and built a personal portfolio designing fliers, logos and album covers for local bands and other small businesses. I eventually branched out into art direction for websites and other areas of design, and started a very small company, Franklin Street Industries. I also dabble in photography, write songs, and sing in a little band I formed with my husband.
Now I’m the new kid at The Marin School, and I am looking forward to being a part of the day-to-day activity here!
